Comprehensive Plan

The last Comprehensive Plan was developed in October of 2011.  I think we can all agree that the island has changed a great deal since then.  Private groups like Vision Galveston have stepped in to help provide insight to the current condition of the community, and provided a guideline for the City to consider. 

I identified the funding in the current Capital Improvement Plan, and pushed leadership to commit to selecting a consulting firm to start the new Comprehensive Plan by the end of the first quarter of 2024. The City can adopt zoning regulations only if they are in accordance with a comprehensive plan. It is time to revisit this in order to keep Galveston a desirable place to work, live, and play.
