About David Finklea
As a resident of the Galveston community, I believe we have a responsibility to leave this place better than we found it.
As a professional engineer, I have spent my entire career on public and private efforts that help create better communities.
It has been an honor serving the City of Galveston as your District 2 City Council Person since May 2023. Prior to my election, I served on the Planning Commission since November 2021, and as Chairman since October 2022.
Since moving to the Island in 2018, I have fallen in love with the island - the natural assets, the diversity and acceptance, and most importantly - the people.
If you honor me with your vote and re-election as your City Councilmember, I will serve as a long-term strategist, listening and respecting all citizens’ views, advocating for effective communication between and coordinated fiscal investment of all governmental entities that receive taxes from our residents and visitors, and promoting comprehensive, practical solutions for investment in our community.
